Tinnitus is the sound of ringing in your ears. For many, this is a chronic condition that is related to hearing loss or vestibular disorders. If you have a tinnitus, there may be a few options. Always ask your audiologist, ENT, or other physician before giving these a try, but many people do have success with it.

Tinnitus Vitamin:

Tinnitus-911 is a pill that contains many minerals and vitamins, such as B-12, Vitamin-C, and B-6. These ingredients can help decrease the ringing, buzzing, and clicking, and is sold here on Amazon.

Another option is Pink or Red Noise.

Download a Pink or Red Noise App on your smart phone, or look up “pink noise” on YouTube. The ambient noise of Pink Noise or Red Noise has anecdotally helped people with their tinnitus by listening to it at least 8 hours/day. The time can include when you’re asleep. Many of my patients turn it on before they go to bed, and it plays all night while they are sleeping.

Here are the steps (1):
  1. Talk to your healthcare provider, ENT, or audiologist about if they think this would work you for.
  2. Find a Pink or Red Noise generator on an app on your smart phone (any will work), a static noise speaker, or on YouTube.
  3. You should turn the volume to approximately 1 “level” on your speaker or phone higher than you hear the tinnitus in your ear or ears.
  4. Listen to this sound for 8 or more hours a day, the more the better.
  5. It can take weeks to start seeing results, so as long as it doesn’t negatively impact your sleep hygiene or cause other symptoms, keep up the listening!
